Our Mission

Our goal is to find a way to support the research of better treatments and, hopefully one day, cures for children and young adult cancers. We currently do this through the Julia’s Legacy of Hope hero fund for The St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

2011 – $1,036

In 2011, Jonah Schneider joined the ranks of St. Baldrick’s and shaved his head at the Plainfield Irish Parade raising $1,036 for Children’s Cancer Research.

2012 – $1,516

In 2012, Jonah once again shaved solo. This year he shaved at the event at Ballydoyle’s in Aurora, IL upping his raised funds to $1,516.

2013 – $5,693

Jonah put together a team of friends and family for 2013 and The Silly Kilts were created! The Kilts shaved at the event at Ballydoyle’s again this year and raise $5,693 for St. Baldrick’s. The Silly Kilts inaugural year consisted of the following members: Jonah Schneider, Keith Smith, Ted Hendry, Christopher Noy, Mike Susner, Steven Barta, Jimmy Lis, Ian Reilly, Patrick Reilly, Ben Donahue, and Rob Dowse.

2014 –  $5,949

Year two of The Silly Kilts saw some changes in the team. Many stayed on, a few left, and a couple new members joined. The team moved to a new venue, McBride’s on 52 in Joliet, IL. The team for 2014 included: Jonah Schneider, Keith Smith, Tim Tholl, Steven Barta, Christopher Noy Joshua Stachura, Ian Reilly, Patrick Reilly, Jimmy Lis, and Thomas Salata.

2015 – $4,835

More changes to the team in 2015. As happens, people move on, and this year the team was down to seven members, with no new additions. That didn’t stop The Silly Kilts though. This year the team shaved at the event held at The Bolingbrook Golf Club in Bolingbrook, IL.  The team in 2015 was: Jonah Schneider, Keith Smith, Steven Barta, Joshua Stachura, Christopher Noy, Patrick Reilly, and Ian Reilly.

2016 – $4,852

2016 saw the same team return from the previous year. The Kilts moved to the event held at 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park, IL.  The team in 2016 was: Jonah Schneider, Keith Smith, Steven Barta, Joshua Stachura, Christopher Noy, Patrick Reilly, and Ian Reilly.
